Video Tutorial

Video Tutorial: Adobe Audition

Overview: This project demonstrates the use of the screen recording software Screenflow to create a video tutorial on how to remove unwanted background noise from audio recordings. The client restricted the video length to approximately 7 minutes to train 7 skills, a true exercise in designing and producing effective micro-learning content.

Target Audience: Students in a college recording arts course. Also effective for any hobbyist or professional that incorporates audio recording into their work, such as voiceover artists, musicians, or podcasters.

Learning Outcomes
Learners will demonstrate the ability to remove unwanted noise artifacts from recorded audio using a variety of methods such as selection tools, Sound Removal Tool, Spot Healing Tool, DeNoise, Noise Reduction Process, DeReverb, and DeClipper tools.

Instructional Design & Methodology
This design project utilizes the concept of micro-learning or chunking: short 30-60 second ‘chunks’ or bursts of information. This helps alleviate cognitive overload and also allows learners to engage in the training at more convenient intervals.
